Iliayasu Mohammed from Dakwa, in Municipal Area Council, Abuja was arrested by the Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command, for allegedly killing his friend (Safillahi Muhammad)

SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson of the command issued a statement on Wednesday said the arrest followed a distress call regarding a suspected homicide in Dantata Village.

She continued that upon receiving the call, officers of the command quickly mobilized to the scene, leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The Police Public Relation Officer ( PPRO) explained that the suspect lured the victim to his home, where he served him food.

Moreover, while the victim was eating, the suspect attacked him with a cutlass, inflicting multiple injuries on his head and body.

 Investigation revealed that Mohammed is an ex-convict. While interrogating him, he confessed about his involvement in a criminal syndicate led by an individual named Hassan, who is yet unknown.

“This gang, which he belongs is known for targeting motorcyclists to steal their vehicles.

Statement continued, the police are actively pursuing other members of the gang who have fled. Mohammed will face charges in court following the completion of the investigation.
