Burna Boy Nominated in 2020 Grammy Award.

The African Giant has made it to the Grammy award for the first time after having a successful year full with hit tracks.

November 20, 2019. At 14:30 nominations for 62 Grammy Awards were announced.

The main award will be held on January 26, 2020 and will be held by Alicia Keys. The nominees were led by Lizzo with eight nominations. She is closely followed by Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, with six nominations.

Burna Boy’s album African Giant was nominated for Best Album in the World. He was nominated in the category alongside Altin Güna by Gece, Bokanté and Metropole Orkest, directed by Jules Buckley by What Heat, Nathalie Joachim of the Spektral Quartet by Fanm D’Ayiti and Angelique Kidjo by Celia.

Burna Boy follows in the footsteps of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade in this Grammy Award nomination.

Other Nigerian Grammy nominees include: Babatune Olatunji, Wizkid, Timaya and Kah Lo. Sikiru Adepoju remains the only Nigerian to win the Grammy.

Nigerians are hoping that the African Giant pick up his award from his category.
