“He’s my idol” – Vinicius Jr sends his salutation to Cristiano Ronaldo after Man City’s defeat

Vinicius Jr, has spoken about his adorable intent to be like Cristiano Ronaldo his Idol.

The Brazilian footballer spoke after helping his club beat Manchester City 3-2 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round-of-32 clash on Tuesday.

Manchester City will travel to Spain for the second ĺeg next week.

Vinicius Jr sees Ronaldo as his idol and would aspire to attain some of his achievements in football especially setting a new record.

The Brazillian footballer had an outstanding performance against City on Tuesday night. He said his motivation was the banner displayed by Manchester City fans taunting him over the 2024 Ballon d’Or saga.

Vinicius was involved in Brahim Diaz goal in 86th minute and also assisted Jude Bellingham’s winner (90+2′).He was named the Player of the Match by UEFA for his contributions to his team’s victory.

After the game, the 24-year-old Brazil international Ronaldo, who is a legend in the Champions League and Los Blancos.

He revealed that he had a good relationship Christiano Ronaldo who seems to be his mentor and role model.

Vinicius Jr, excellently performed for Real Madrid in the Champions League final last season, spoke about his desire to lead the club to title wins like Christiano Ronaldo did between 2009 and 2018.

Vinicius Jr said“Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol. I talk a lot to him. Hopefully I can win as much titles as he did at Real Madrid,” (via Madrid Xtra’s X handle).

Vinicius Jr, meanwhile, has already won 14 trophies with the Spanish capital city club since 2018.

He has scored 101 goals and contributed 84 assists in 295 appearances for the football club.
